How does the census count the families who live in cardboard boxes in Las Vegas?

Recently ';lived'; in ';fabulous Las Vegas'; and was shocked to see thousands of men women and children and babies living in cardboard boxes on the sidewalk coverd in filth and wreaking of urine. Are these people counted? Do they matter to anyone? How does the census count the families who live in cardboard boxes in Las Vegas?
the answer to HOW is .....after the census is mailed out to pple who have a postal address there are census workers sent out in person to count the pple who are unable for various reasons to be counted in the conventional manner....those census workers will attempt to make sure those people do count in terms of government assistance to the area they live in...

the answer to Do they matter to anyone....yes, there are many charities that focus on helping the homeless people and the people who live in the underground tunnels of Las VegasHow does the census count the families who live in cardboard boxes in Las Vegas?
Yes, these people do matter in the census and they are to be counted. It is necessary to know of the afforseen people if they are to be elevated from their current existence. Because they are poor and live in the streets is no reason whatsoever for them to be ignored as they are our fellow Americans and should be equally afforded the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I'll let you know, I'll soon be there. :(
